Nice Try is a shop in Chicago for people who are a little obsessive about their stuff and have made peace with that.
We carry objects that work hard and look good doing it. Unexpected colors, shapes, textures. Stuff that makes your home feel warm and specific to you, the kind of place where people ask about everything on your shelves. We love a good coffee table book. We love a shiny object. We love a room that looks like it happened organically, not like it was assembled all at once from the same three stores.
Does having cool stuff make us cool? Nah. But we like the way we feel when we're surrounded by things we actually love, and we think that's close enough.
After all, good taste isn't worth a damn if it doesn't make you happy. That's more or less why we exist.

OUR COOLISH PEOPLE
Nice Try’s Founder, Kristin, opened this little shop with the dream of one day freeing herself from screen-based work and keeping her livelihood safe from the gnashing teeth of private equity’s insatiable, gaping maw. She personally curates all the stuff you’ll find at Nice Try and is trying really hard not to just keep everything in the shop for herself. She lives in Lake View.
